The procedure takes between two and four hours and a general anaesthetic is used. Once the procedure is complete, you can expect pain, tightness, and swelling. However, this can be managed with painkillers easily. Usually, the pain subsides after two weeks of surgery. Furthermore, dressings and stitches are removed in 2 weeks, after which your surgeon will advise you on resuming your daily life activities.

- Wear undergarments that support and minimise breast movement and weight. This should be done for at least three months.
- Make sure to avoid wired bras for three months.
- Nonetheless, it takes at least 4 to 6 weeks for the patient to experience full recovery.
- You may start driving after two weeks, but only if you don’t experience pain. However, if you have concerns or recovery issues, consult your surgeon immediately.
